Datafighters

"Datafighters" is an audiovisual project that collects international documentaries on free software, copyleft and cyberactivism.

The aim of the project is an internet TV channel that contains a videocompilation of various documentary extracts:

• that demystify issues like open source, creative commons & mediahacktivism
• that build awareness on contested issues like propriety sofware, intellectual property, surveillance systems & the control of capital over the mass media
• that organize an online audivisual meeting with international activists from the underground scene of digital culture

The movies on Datafighters are organized into 4 chapters:

• Free software fighters
  Hackers & free software programmers that challenge proprietary software monopolies.

• Copyleft fighters
  File-sharers & copyleft artists that fight intellectual property law & digital rights management.

• Media fighters
  Grassroots communication guerillas who breach the wall of neoliberalism and the corporate media-advertising complex, using the technologies at their disposal.

• Privacy fighters
  Grassroots technology guerillas who fight total control and surveillance systems.
